From "Cooking Without a Grain of Salt." Brown sugar is slightly higher in sodium than white, so use brown sugar if sodium isn't a big problem for your diet.
1 1/3 cups water
1 cup canned pineapple tidbits
1/4 cup white sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
2 tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine
1 1/3 cups quick-cooking rice
Bring all ingredients except rice to a boil. Stir in rice. Cover and simmer 10 minutes, or until rice has absorbed the liquid. Makes 4 servings.
