The rainy weather for the past week has me feeling down. I don’t know why my mood is so often connected to the amount of sunshine — and I know that it’s not walking by faith. But sometimes the gloom can be oppressive, even when things are going pretty well in my life. And when they’re not — it can be even worse.
If rain is God’s blessing, then why does it have to look so gloomy?
That’s why I think it’s sort of ironic that rain is often used in Scripture as a metaphor for blessing. On a holiday weekend like this, when we want to be outside, working in the yard or having fun, rain can seem more like a curse than a blessing.
