Clearing Out the Cobwebs
It's been quiet around here --- too quiet. But, as you might guess, when it's quiet here, my life is anything but. It has been a rich and full month. Proms are past, as is Commencement and the graduation open house. This week, Amy and I went to Kalamazoo for her New Student Orientation Day at Western Michigan. She's all registered for her fall classes, ready and eager to get started. She's going in with a declared major in Interior Design ... and the fall schedule is crammed with design and drafting courses. It will be interesting to see if she sticks with this.
In the midst of all this, my health has taken some unpleasant turns. I put on about 15 pounds of retained water, mostly in my feet and legs --- which often made walking painful and kneeling excruciating. THAT's receding now, thanks to a strong daily dose of Bumetanide. But my blood pressure is also in the stratosphere, and even though we've tried a couple of different medications, nothing seems to be having an effect. Your prayers would be appreciated on that one because I think the doctor is running out of ideas.
I assume that you are already doing a low protein high fiber diet and taking thirty million pills.
sounds like the time for a new kidney is fast approaching.
any idea when that might happen?
any luck finding a live donor?
you are still in my prayers
