Giving Thanks 26: Music
Ken and I were driving home from dinner with his family last night, when the XM Pops station played one of my Christmas favorites, Handel's "Unto Us a Child Is Born" from "Messiah." So I'm just singing along, missing the high notes of the soprano part because my voice is so out of practice, but totally getting swept away by the music. And I realized --- what a great gift God gave Handel to write such a beautiful, timeless, joyful, dancing piece of music. So today I give thanks for music, and for all the people who use their God-given talents to make it.
Amen and amen! Music is truly one of the Father's greatest gifts.

Another amen from here, too. Handel's "Messiah" is a wonderful, timeless masterpiece.
