Robert Webber, who wrote such classics as "The Younger Evangelicals" and "Ancient Future Worship," has died after a long battle with cancer. I was sorry to read of his passing on Randy McRoberts' blog. Webber is one Christian author I've actually had the honor to meet and even eat lunch with. He was one of the main speakers at a Presbyterian conference I attended in Louisville on the emerging church. He was an engaging speaker and conversationalist. He had a real vision, I think, for what the church can be. That was in 2003 (I have my copy of "The Younger Evangelicals," which I had asked him to sign.) Check out Webber's Web site, Ancient Future Worship, to find out more about his ministry.
Update: There will be a memorial service in Chicago ... watch this Web site for details.
